    Program Director, Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace

    Mary Ann Baynton

    Mary Ann’s area of focus is workplace mental health. She is author and co-author of several books such as Mindful Manager, Keeping Well at Work, Preventing Workplace Meltdown, Building Stronger Teams and Resolving Workplace Issues.

    In her latest book, The Evolution of Workplace Mental Health in Canada: Toward a standard for psychological health and safety, Mary Ann draws on her experience as a chair of the committee responsible for the development of the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. A world first, this voluntary standard helps employers prevent psychological harm to employees.

    Mary Ann has served as the Program Director for the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace for over a decade. The Centre helps all employers, not just its clients, address psychological health and safety in their workplaces. The Centre hosts roundtables to discuss issues, supports new research, and partners with experts in the creation of new resources. These resources are provided free of charge to everyone to help with the prevention, intervention and management of workplace mental health issues.
