Alix Herber
Alix Herber’s practice is focused on advising and representing employers in labour, employment and human rights matters. With considerable experience in the retail, hospitality, manufacturing and healthcare industries, Alix provides clients with strategic and solution oriented advice, ensuring legislative compliance and mitigating potential liability. Offering advice to union and non-union employers, Alix assists with all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring, employment agreements, performance management, employee discipline and terminations, company restructurings, as well as collective agreement interpretation, collective bargaining and union organizational campaigns.
With active involvement in the drafting of workplace policies, Alix also provides harassment and discrimination training for employees at all levels. Alix prides herself on providing proactive advice to clients on human rights issues such as those relating to disability, family status and other prohibited grounds. Alix regularly advises on or acts as external investigator in sexual harassment and other workplace investigations.
Chair of the firm’s Ontario Women’s Network, Alix was awarded Lexpert’s “Zenith Award” for her ongoing contribution to promoting women in law.
